Calon era il nome dato all’imbarcazione utilizzata nel Medioevo per trasportare il legno da una sponda all’altra della Garonna. All’inizio del XVIII secolo, il marchese di Ségur, che ricevette la tenuta in occasione del suo matrimonio, vi aggiunse il suo nome e nacque così l’etichetta di questa terza crescita classificata di Saint-Estèphe.

Calon was the name given to the vessel used in the Middle Ages to transport wood from one bank of the Garonne to the other. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Marquis of Ségur, who received the estate on the occasion of his marriage, added his name to it and thus the label of this third classified growth of Saint-Estèphe was born.
